The gradual development of Harrachov can be easily followed on old postcards.

The ridge (in Czech “hřeben”) behind the church was still completely forested until 1930 (photo 1). Construction of the first houses here began in 1932 and was already finished by 1933 (photo 2). These houses lay the foundation for the part of Harrachov known as Hřebenka until today.

At that time, the original owners of the house, Mr. and Mrs. Jirásek, were already renting rooms on the first floor to tourists. This is evidenced by some preserved postcards, where visitors mention the house as Pension Jirásek.
